Aftercare
Now that you've made the investment of getting a tattoo, here are some tips for the healing process and keeping the ink looking vibrant.

Keep it Clean
Keep the second skin bandage on for 3 - 5 days. After which you can remove the bandage. It's helpful to remove in the shower to allow the water to help loosen the adhesive.
Once the bandage is removed, gently clean the tattoo with mild unscented soap and warm water using your hands; do not use a washcloth. Let the tattoo air dry or use a paper towel to pat dry.
Moisturize
Keep the tattoo moisturized with a thin layer of unscented lotion. It may be dry and itchy as it heals. Do your best not to scratch or rub it.

Continue to wash and apply an unscented lotion for 2 weeks. If it starts to peel, do not pick at the skin, simply keep it moisturized.

Protect with SPF
Keep your tattoo out of the sun for approximately 2 weeks to allow time for healing.

Refrain from tight clothing around the tattoo during the healing process. Loose clothing in a natural fabric (cotton) is preferred.

Keep out of the bath, sauna, laying out, tanning bed, swimming pool and beach for 2 weeks.

After the tattoo is fully healed, use sunblock with SPF 30 or above to protect your tattoo from the sun.
